Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Whopp! Straight-Line Top of the Key 3-Point Shot Basketball Tournament ("Tournament"), operated by Whopp! Sports ("Organizer," "we," "our," or "us"). By registering for or participating in the Tournament, you ("Participant") agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility
Participants must:
• Meet the minimum age (18) requirement established for the event.
• Complete the official registration form.
• Pay all applicable entry fees before the registration deadline.
• Sign the required liability waiver before participating.
• Follow all Tournament rules and instructions.

2. Tournament Format:
The Organizer reserves the right to determine and modify:
• Tournament format - All participating players will have the opportunity to make at least one 3-point basket on three attempts to advance to the rotation line in their respective division.
• Number of rounds - One continuous rotation round of shooting until the last player is standing alone.
• Time limits - Each player will have a maximum of 5 seconds to attempt a 3-point shot once the ball is placed in their hands.
• Tie-breaker methods - TBD
• Divisions - There will be a total of eight divisions
• Event schedule

Changes may be made due to weather, venue conditions, safety concerns, or operational needs.

3. Official Rules
Participants agree to:
• Shoot only from the designated 20-foot, top-of-the-key 3-point range.
• Follow all timing and shooting procedures.
• Respect officials monitoring each player.
• Accept the official outcome as final unless a scoring error is confirmed.
Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in warnings or disqualification.

4. Player Conduct
Participants must:
• Treat other players, spectators, volunteers, and staff with respect.
• Avoid abusive language, harassment, intimidation, or physical altercations.
• Refrain from damaging tournament property or facilities.
• Follow venue rules at all times.

4(b)• Transgender competitors must play in a gender division assigned to them at birth. Example: A biological male must compete in a male division according to their age group, regardless of their transitioning period
. 
The Organizer may remove any participant whose behavior threatens the safety or enjoyment of others.

5. Equipment
Unless otherwise announced:
• Tournament basketballs will be provided.
• Personal basketballs may not be used during official competition.
• Participants must wear athletic footwear appropriate for basketball courts.
• The Organizer reserves the right to inspect equipment.

6. Registration Fees
Entry fees are non-refundable unless:
• The Organizer cancels the event.
• Refunds are required by applicable law.
Registration may not be transferred without the Organizer's approval.

7. Event Cancellation
The Organizer reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, relocate, or cancel the Tournament due to:
• Severe weather
• Facility issues
• Safety concerns
• Government orders
• Low registration
• Circumstances beyond reasonable control

Refund decisions will be made at the Organizer's discretion unless otherwise required by law.

8. Assumption of Risk
Basketball activities involve inherent risks, including, but not limited to:
• Falls
• Slips
• Collisions
• Sprains
• Fractures
• Head injuries
• Serious bodily injury

By participating, you voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with the Tournament.

9. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, each Participant releases and holds harmless:
• Whopp! Sports
• Tournament organizers
• Sponsors
• Venue owners
• Employees
• Volunteers
• Contractors
• Event partners

From any claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of participation in the Tournament, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct as prohibited by applicable law.

10. Medical Emergencies
Participants authorize emergency medical treatment if necessary.
Participants are responsible for:
• Their own health insurance
• Medical expenses
• Emergency transportation costs

The Organizer does not guarantee on-site medical personnel.

11. Photography and Media Release
By participating, you grant Whopp! Sports permission to:
• Photograph you
• Record video
• Record audio
• Use your name, likeness, voice, and performance

These materials may be used for:
• Marketing
• Advertising
• Social media
• Broadcasts
• Websites
• Future promotional materials
without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.

12. Intellectual Property
All Tournament branding, logos, graphics, names, trademarks, and promotional materials remain the property of Whopp! Sports.

Unauthorized commercial use is prohibited.

13. Prize Awards
Prize eligibility requires compliance with all Tournament rules.
The Organizer reserves the right to:
• Verify eligibility
• Conduct rule reviews
• Withhold prizes pending investigation
• Disqualify participants for fraud or rule violations

Taxes on prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner.

13b. Divisions and Prize Money Payouts
Each Whopp! 3-point shot basketball tournament will display the prize payout for each division winner and overall winner on its website for all participants to view.

Maximum overall payouts will be determined by the number of participants in our event. A minimum of 100 participants at a registration price of $89 per contestant, or an equivalent of 500 spectators purchasing a ticket at a price of $29 to view the game, will ensure the maximum payout listed on each tournament event.

Whopp! Sports will adjust the prize money in each division and to the overall grand prize winner if fewer than 150 registered participants or 500 paid spectators attend this event. All participants will be notified if the prize money is decreased in any amount.

14. Disqualification
Participants may be disqualified for:
• Cheating
• Unsportsmanlike conduct
• False registration information
• Safety violations
• Rule violations
• Illegal substances affecting competition
• Interference with Tournament operations
Disqualified participants may forfeit entry fees and prizes.

15. Privacy
Personal information collected during registration will be used to:
• Process registration
• Administer the Tournament
• Contact participants
• Announce results
• Improve future events

The Organizer will not sell personal information.

16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Whopp! Sports total liability shall not exceed the amount of the participant's Tournament registration fee.
The Organizer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

17. Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Whopp! Sports, its officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates from claims arising from the participant's actions, negligence, or violation of these Terms.

18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the state or jurisdiction in which the Tournament is conducted, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located within that jurisdiction unless otherwise agreed.

19. Changes to These Terms
Whopp! Sports reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Updated versions become effective upon publication.

20. Acceptance
By registering for or participating in the Whopp! Sports Classic Straight-Line Top of the Key 3-Point Shot Basketball Tournament, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree, you should not register for or participate in the Tournament.
